Features of the French mentality

France ... She is so mysterious and attractive, aristocratic and alluring ... Probably everyone recognizes that this country is a trendsetter in the world, and Paris is a synonym for sophistication. And the legends go about the grace and charm of its inhabitants. We are sure that the Frenchwoman must be surely sophisticated, stylishly dressed, well-made Mademoiselle on tall stilettos and in a flirty hat.

Oh yes, and certainly a haute couture handbag. The Frenchman is an incredibly charming man, temperamental, loving, gallant. He is ready to write poetry to the lady of the heart and give his life, defending her dignity.
France is Coco Chanel and Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander Dumas and Victor Hugo, Edith Piaf and Patricia Kaas ... The great homeland of great people.

How are the French different from us, the Slavs? Why, even in jokes, the French woman is thin and sonorous, in a short lace peignoir, languidly eating salad leaves from a porcelain plate, and the Russian woman is a sort of thunder-woman in an apron and with a rolling pin in her hand, which will stop her horse and gallop easily enter? Why, defending his honor, a Frenchman from book novels, gracefully moving, fights on swords, and a Russian man rolls up his sleeves, takes off his bast shoes and starts a fist fight? What is the difference between the French mentality and ours? Let's try to compare and understand.

Pride and Prejudice
The French, especially Parisians, love themselves very much. They are proud to be French and consider their nation the most beautiful in the world. An order of magnitude better than everyone else. It seems that they absorb self-esteem and self-respect with breast milk. The Frenchman knows that he deserves all the best only because he was born a Frenchman. Take at least a meal ceremony. The table must be beautifully served, a portion, albeit small, but elegantly decorated, all the ingredients are laid out with taste, each in its place. French desserts are masterpieces - the chef, sparing himself, invests many hours of work, although he knows perfectly well that a little later the confectionery miracle will be eaten in a matter of minutes.

Here man is at the center of everything, and everything is done for him and for his sake. If there is a children's park at the school, then be sure that this is the park, and not a place for walking dogs, drinking beer and smoking weed. Amazing flowers and freshly painted shops, beautiful fountains with potable water, and well-groomed paths. And even a special gendarme making rounds. In addition, there is a gate that closes at night with a deadbolt. In a word, everything is for little Parisians. City buses run on schedule, which, incidentally, can be obtained at any kiosk, and metro trains run every minute at rush hour. The state works for people, in no case the other way around.

The ability to live and enjoy life
The second feature of the French is the ability to take everything from life. The so-called "savoir vivre". This is a very multifaceted and multicomponent concept, which can be fully grasped, probably only by the true son of France. This ability to live high quality, enjoying every minute. Good manners, courtesy and elegance in everything. Exquisite clothing - oh, a real Parisian will never get a new thing that came from China! These are the rules of good form - a real Parisian woman will never publicly correct her makeup.

Observance of etiquette - a man during a meeting will never allow himself to take off his jacket or loosen his tie. This subtle sense of humor - every Frenchman must be able to defuse the tense situation with an ingenious joke. And, of course, this is excessive French courtesy. In no case, even being dead drunk, even while dying, one should not forget the basics of politeness - greeting, shaking hands with every man; warmly thank you for the service provided; When asking, do not forget to say “please”; and leaving, even in a hurry, it is necessary to say goodbye to everyone and kiss the ladies' hands. Otherwise, they can easily stop accepting you in society. Simply put, savoir vivre is the ability to live with style. It is it that gives France such a strong appeal, real magnetism.

Love of freedom and a penchant for monumentalism
A true Parisian considers himself free - in the sense that he puts his interests above everything else. He can cross the road to red or go to the checkout without waiting in line. He with a slight sense of superiority refers to representatives of other nationalities. The British are too boring for him, the Slavs are badly educated, the Americans are stingy and hypocritical. Why, because he is a Parisian, he is of blue blood! He knows how to negotiate and defend his opinion.

However, French freedom implies responsibility for their actions, in contrast to Russian freedom, which is almost always equal to anarchy and chaos. And, unfortunately, few Russians are brought up in the spirit of love and self-respect - rather, it is constant dissatisfaction with oneself, disbelief in one's strength, disappointment and a feeling of dissatisfaction.

We treat the Europeans with reverence, while the French look at everyone but themselves, condescendingly and a little down. Maybe that's why Parisian architects suffer from gigantomania? However, even it has true French features - new buildings fit so well into the landscape and look so aesthetically pleasing that sometimes you won’t understand whether it’s two hundred years or a couple of dozen. And no ridiculous bad taste spoiling the landscape - only sophistication and style.

Political correctness
The French are very scrupulous in everything regarding political correctness. If a gang, in which there are Africans or Arabs, is operating in Paris, they will never concentrate on this! Rather, they will focus on whites, even if they are a minority there. Gradually, such behavior led to the fact that emigrants became more and more unbridled, they rob and kill almost with impunity, and the French press only reproachfully threatens with a finger and explains all this with the vices of bourgeois society.

What is he - a portrait of a true Parisian?
According to romantic stereotypes, the French are big ladies and tireless lovers, they are seductive and chivalrously polite, courteous and witty, courageous and ambitious. However, for the most part, these images are inspired by films about France and the heroes of novels by Alexander Dumas. In fact, not everything is so rosy. The average Frenchman is quite nervous and irritable nowadays. Those who feel low wages are constantly unhappy that they are not raising it. Those with decent earnings complain that they are lowering them.

Peasants are on strike due to the fact that a huge amount of cheaper foreign food is being imported into the country. Small shopkeepers scold supermarkets, because of which their business does not withstand competition and causes losses. Civil servants have a stable and good salary, but even those who are not quite satisfied - they are not satisfied with the number of privileges they have been granted. Young people are afraid to stay out of work - even a diploma does not guarantee a good place.

Schoolchildren smoke and indulge in alcohol. Isn't that a familiar picture? France is also at a crossroads, but people do not give up and are looking for ways out. The stake is on the development and promotion of high technology in industry. Therefore, today the portrait of a successful, self-fulfilling Frenchman is as follows: he is a qualified specialist, an employee of a large international company, elegantly and expensively dressed, who does not part with a laptop and phone. In addition to everything, he - contrary to all ideas about the French - is an exemplary family man and a caring father. Now in France it is considered a good form.

These are they, the French. Perhaps they should learn something from them, and take an example from them, not forgetting that each nation is beautiful and unique in its own way!
