Cons of Portugal or good where we are not

2.6.2020 00:24| Разместил: PavelShumilov| Просмотров: 240| Комментарии: 0

Many people think that Portugal is just a fairy tale. And that having got here, any person automatically becomes a happy, carefree and completely satisfied life.

I want to write an article about the minuses of living in Portugal. I must say right away that this article is not easy for me because of my lifelong optimism. Therefore, I will attribute "But then."

The first minus is dampness

In winter it rains all the time. Three months in a row. Rain is to  some extent better than frost at 30 degrees, but three months in a row is too much! Even optimists have depression. Many people constantly cough because of this, they catch a cold. But a huge selection of rubber boots   I'm already silent about the variety of colors, you can find rubber boots with heels!

Lack of central heating

When it is cold and damp outside, it is pleasant to return to a warm and comfortable house. There is no such pleasure. The houses are also damp and cold. If there is heating in the house, then paying for it is virtually impossible, because people do not include it. Heaters are also equated to luxury - because electricity is also expensive.

But some people have fireplaces - you can sit by the fireplace, warm yourself, imagine that the romantics envy you, put on two pajamas, climb under three blankets and sleep in the cold with this kind thought

What can also be written in “but” - to sleep in a cold room, according to scientists, is very useful - the youth of the skin and the body in general is preserved. One acquaintance lived in a house where the temperature in winter was 5–6 degrees! At 40 she looked just great - 25–28 years old.

Expensive utilities

Electricity, water, gas and porch maintenance in Portugal are quite expensive. Gasoline, cigarettes, hair dye, and many other women's “needs” are also expensive. But cheap fruits, vegetables, meat.

Hard to find a job

If you come here with the expectation of getting a job, then your expectations are crumbling very quickly. Without knowledge of the language, and in the current crisis, the task becomes almost impossible. But the brain turns on, and you begin to think about how to open a business, or what you can give useful to people so that they want to thank you financially.

Earlier on our site there was an article about personality degradation , I think that it was relevant 10 years, maybe 8 ago. Now there are few such personalities - people translate diplomas, confirm their profession, open small firms, seek their place in Portuguese society and find it with success!

No familiar circle of friends nearby

At first, people really miss their surroundings. After a year or two, some begin to have an attack of nostalgia and a very strong desire to return. I also had a little. When I went to my first job, I was directly hysterical and terrible depression. It was a turning point. Then it seemed to me for a short while that in Ukraine I was a specialist and, let's say, had a certain authority, but here I am nobody, and nobody needs me here.

After a short time, I realized that no one in the world owed anything to anyone, and it was an illusion. And the second point is that if a person is worth something , then regardless of the country he will find application in society and create a new circle of communication. Such a "growing personality" can be attributed to "but then."

There are no familiar products
. Many still miss “our” products; there is even such a topic on the forum . Those who have been living for a long time have already found some kind of similar products, have learned how to cook many of their favorite snacks themselves. I do not miss almost anything. What is for sale here suits me, and if you really want something, then you can always buy some products in the “Russian store”, or order it to familiar tourists. In this paragraph, it didn’t work “but”, although you can write that they have enough local sweets, which it’s now difficult to imagine parting with either.

Maternity leave in Portugal The
big minus is maternity leave, or rather its almost complete absence. Expectant mothers actually work before the fights, and go to work when the child is half a year old. There is definitely no “but.”

And something else ...
There is still one phenomenon that defies justification or some kind of logic. Once there was a city day, and there was a small concert. We walked along the promenade and passing by the company of guys I felt a strange smell. It turned out that they smoked marijuana. Nearby stood a policeman calmly. I was mildly surprised. It turns out that if you have one portion of this product with you, then this is nothing - poison yourself with your health. And if already 2 or more, then this is “storage for the purpose of distribution”, which is punishable.

I can’t remember more minuses so far, if I remember - I will write on the forum. They say: “It’s good where we are not”, but I do not quite agree with this. Wherever a person goes, he takes HIMSELF with him, so you need to learn to make yourself “good” anywhere.

Often look for positive points, often play the game "but then." On this subject, I prefer another expression: “In order to live and enjoy, you need only two things. First live, and  secondly rejoice! ” So I wish all readers of the article joy, regardless of the host country! And the next article will be about the Portuguese pluses!

See you at the Portuguese forum!
