The Finnish mentality ... what is it like?

2.6.2020 00:17| Разместил: PavelShumilov| Просмотров: 242| Комментарии: 0

Jokes tell Finns, KVN men joke about their character, their slowness became a byword ... A resident of Finland in our imagination appears as a leisurely, laconic, rustic shirt-guy. Is this really so or all - idle inventions? Let's try to figure it out.

Naturally, the inhabitants of the Country of a thousand lakes have their own perception of the world, a way of life, thinking - in a word, their mentality, which has been formed for centuries. There are a number of qualities common to the whole nation, which nature itself helped the Finns to forge.

Finland is a harsh country, it is necessary to adapt to it in order to survive. And it’s not very easy to survive, but to get on your feet and go forward, achieving your goal. In such conditions, the climate is not very gentle, under the gusts of the northern wind, the main personal characteristics of the Finns have been developed over the years - determination and the habit of overcoming difficulties, perseverance and unhurriedness.
Let’s talk about each of the character traits that all together make up the mentality of the nation, separately. So…

Famous Finnish slowness
Finns know how to enjoy life, appreciate every moment and are well aware that it will not happen again, so they are in no hurry, savoring every minute. A Finn, running with his eyes wide, knocking down everyone on his way, is an extraordinary phenomenon, almost fantastic. However, this slowness does not mean at all that they think tightly, the Finns are simply careful and approach everything thoughtfully and carefully.

Accuracy - the politeness of kings
Finns are an extremely punctual nation. To be late for a meeting or a date is considered bad manners. You must admit that such a quality as punctuality is simply indispensable for any business person. Organization and timely arrival at the appointed place indicate that a person knows how to value time. The Finns respect each other, so the order and regime for them is not just words, but a guide to action.

The word is silver, and silence is gold
Finns cannot be called a particularly talkative nation. These are not Italians with their love of relentless chatter and active gestures. You could even say that Finns are their exact opposite. They prefer empty talk to action. It’s easier for them to learn news from newspapers than, for example, from a conversation with a neighbor on the porch.

Increased responsibility
Finns are a very responsible nation. Said - done. Maybe that's why they speak so carefully. They are not used to rushing words, and before they promise anything, they will think a hundred times. If you promised - be calm, will fulfill. They are very reliable, for which they are highly valued as business partners.

Personal freedom
In Finland, when communicating, it is not customary to violate the boundaries of personal space. The interlocutors will never come closer to each other than a meter, for freedom is sacred. A friendly hug is unacceptable, they are left for intimate dates. All other meetings - please, at a pioneer distance.

Iron will
The stubbornness and endurance of the Finns have long been known. Well, if they decide what - they will achieve their goal, how to give a drink. Their motto in life is to see the goal, not see the obstacles. In Finland, it is customary to bring things to the end without throwing halfway.

Cause time - fun hour
Finns are very hardworking. Laziness is considered an unacceptable vice here. They understand that only work and perseverance will achieve the desired result. However, they know how to relax, because, as you know, who has a good rest - that works well. Everything needs a middle ground, so Finns are not a workaholic either. Few people know that it is in this country that people have the longest vacation in Europe - as long as 39 days!

Movement is life
Finns love sports and enjoy doing it, despite the weather and time of year. They are also interested in traveling and are happy to devote part of their big vacation to this business.

Savings should be economical
At the same time, the inhabitants of Finland are very economical. It’s not that they were mean, but it’s somehow not accepted to litter money - a penny saves a ruble. All expenses are carefully planned, and this, in fact, is not bad at all.

These are they, the inhabitants of the harsh northern country, reliable and responsible, hardworking and strong, and, perhaps, still slightly different than we imagined.
