But he does it… Ezio Bosso was born in Turin on September 13, 1971. At four, he knew how to read scores, but did not know the letters, he was called a young genius and predicted a bright future. And these prophecies came true — at the age of sixteen he made his debut in Paris as a soloist, and since then he almost never returned to Turin: Paris, London, Vienna, New York, Sydney… He performed with the best orchestras in the world and applauded him in the most famous theaters of all continents… He wrote music, wrote a lot — and soundtracks, and classics… Everything broke off in an instant. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. A disease that leads to a slow and painful death… In the same 2011, Ezio Bosso had surgery on the brain, but it did not bring significant success. «In an instant, I lost everything: speech, music," the musician says in one of his interviews. — I played and cried, for months and months I could not write anything. Music was no longer part of my life, it was far away, I could not catch it. And I realized that I can live without her. It was not terrible. It was different, it was a different experience. I realized that music is part of me, but it is not me. That I am in her service. Slowly, through pain and frustration, Ezio Bosso learned to live with his illness and the music returned to him. «We human beings are beautiful, but often, who knows why, forget it," he says. «There are no bad stories, only sad or funny ones." We should be afraid only of boredom. Now it’s hard for me to talk, I can’t run anymore, but I can still play. And at the very moment when my fingers touch the keys, I forget about my problems… For several years now, Ezio Bossi has been living in London, because in his native Italy he is considered only a composer of soundtracks, forgetting about his contribution to contemporary classical music. |
